The Rocky Mountain Center for Health Promotion and Education (RMC)
  • The Rocky Mountain Center for Health Promotion and Education (RMC) is a private, nonprofit corporation located at the base of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Since 1974, RMC has disseminated comprehensive school health education programs and provided in-service training to educators, parents, and others committed to improving health. In addition to its strong emphasis on effective health education curricula, RMC provides technical assistance and training on the national health education standards. Since 1994, RMC has operated a statewide prevention information center, which is available to the general public. RMC provides professional development and resources to promote the health of children, youth, their schools, and their communities.

NEW Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Community Policing Development (CPD)

  • Applications due May 21, 2012, 5:00pm EDT
  • The CPD Program is open to all public governmental agencies, profit and non-profit institutions, universities, community groups and faith based organizations. Proposals should be of national relevance, significantly advance the field of community policing, and demonstrate an understanding of community policing as it pertains to the application topic.
  • The 2012 CPD grant program has been established to fund projects related to one of the following topic areas:
    • Community Policing Enhancement (COPS-CPD-2012-1)

Project School Emergency Response to Violence (SERV)- U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools

  • This program funds short-term and long-term education-related services for local educational agencies (LEAs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) to help them recover from a violent or traumatic event in which the learning environment has been disrupted. Generally, Immediate Services assistance covers up to 60 days from the date of the incident. Extended Services assistance covers up to one year from the incident.

Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS)

Applications are due on the recurring dates of March 31 and September 30 each year

  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announces SAMHSA’s Knowledge Dissemination Conference Grants program (also referred to as SAMHSA Conference Grants).  The purpose of the Conference Grant program is to disseminate knowledge about practices within the mental health services and substance abuse prevention and treatment fields and to integrate that knowledge into real-world practice as effectively and efficiently as possible.  
  • It is not the practice of SAMHSA to provide total support for planned meetings and conferences.  The maximum Conference Grant award is $50,000 for a 12-month project period.  Only direct costs will be funded under this program.  Not all SAMHSA’s Centers will be awarding Conference Grants in any given year.  Please visit the SAMHSA Web site at www.samhsa.gov to learn which Centers are providing funding and the number and size of awards for any specific year.
